"Two Live Performances In New Haven documents two performances at the end of my Grunt tour. I had toured Grunt, my eighth record extensively for over a year, first workshopping the pieces in public territory and later deciding how the final energy of the album could fit together in a live context. By the end of 2018 I had felt confident including less caustic moments within these performances, as well as flashes of new material. The two live spurts documented on this release are clear testimony to this recent direction and also have an underlying vocal drone in common. I was flirting with the New Haven noise scene at the time, so both the performances took place in spaces there; one at an art gallery, and one a bookstore."
